MEET THE ARTISANS: Asha Project

Asha Project is dedicated to helping women discover their value and worth while building hope for a better future. Through community-based handicraft groups, women gather weekly to create, learn, and support one another.

Each Kantha towel passes through the hands of multiple artisans, from preparing materials to stitching and finishing, creating meaningful employment across communities. This order alone provided 35 women in three villages with 1400 hours of dignified work.

MEET THE ARTISANS: Local Hope

Local Hope is an artisan group based in Houston, Texas, made up of vulnerable women including refugees and survivors of human trafficking. Through skills training and meaningful employment, these women are able to rebuild their lives and gain independence.

Artisan Megan shares how this work has transformed her life. After a difficult season, she found renewed confidence and purpose through creating. Today she continues to grow in her skills while helping lead and encourage others in the program.

Led by Gunjan, a female leader in a historically male-dominated craft, this team of 350 artisans preserves heritage techniques while building opportunity for the future. Each piece reflects both artistry and resilience.
