Faithfulness is the act of being loyal, reliable, determined, and steadfast as listed in the Fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23. The Fruits of the Spirit not only give us something to aspire to as we abide in Christ but they are also based on the very characteristics of God.
In the book of Psalms alone, David writes of God’s steadfastness towards us 127 times! God is faithful.
He is unchanging.
He is trustworthy.
God keeps his promises to us.
As we abide in Christ, we can be faithful to Him and others in difficult times. Faithfulness is a quiet virtue that shows our strength and dependability on God. Psalm 100:5 teaches, “For the Lord is good; His mercy endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations.” Faithfulness neutralizes fear because it replaces what we are afraid of with the One we can trust who holds everything.

Forged in Hope
Forged in Hope, a Mercy House Global artisan group from Kibera slum in Nairobi, Kenya, handcrafts jewelry and home decor from brass, wood, and horn. Nicholas leads the workshop that made these Brass Wall Hooks. Forged in Hope invests back into businesses in Kibera, fostering local economic growth. This order of hooks provided 224 hours of empowering work.
Local Hope
Local Hope focuses on supporting women in Houston, TX. who are coming out of a life of oppression and are in a vulnerable situation. We provide a safe place for women to re-enter the workforce and obtain the training and skills needed to meet future goals. Through our ministry partners, quarterly empowerment lunches and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes, we identify women who would benefit from job and skills training. Women in our Artisan Training Program are paid a fair and livable wage for the products they make. The items are sold in the Mercy House Global Marketplace and MHG Clubs to help continue the cycle of empowerment.
Street Hope
Street Hope began as a group of women from Mathare slum who had lived on the street for their entire lives. After working with Mercy House Global to learn the art of hand-stitching, the women of Street Hope are growing in their skills and confidence, providing food and education for their children, learning to read, overcoming addiction, and moving into their own homes.
