Local Hope is a Mercy House Global artisan group in Houston, Texas, providing meaningful employment and a supportive community for women who have overcome human trafficking. Through skills training and dignified work, these women create handcrafted products while building confidence, developing new skills, and working toward greater financial independence.
Local Hope also serves refugees and overcomers of human trafficking through programs that encourage connection, growth, and empowerment. ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes help refugees strengthen their English skills, while Women’s Empowerment Luncheons provide both communities with opportunities for fellowship, practical learning, and skills training. Together, these programs create welcoming spaces where women can build relationships, grow in confidence, and move toward greater stability and independence.
