INTERNSHIPS WITH MERCY HOUSE GLOBAL

Thank you so much for your interest in interning with Mercy House Global!

All internships are located in Magnolia, Texas. Interns must provide their own housing arrangements, personal computer and transportation to and from the office. We work with interns who have graduated high school and are 18 years or older.

Mercy House Global internships are offered 3 times during the year: Spring, Summer and Fall.

2018 Internship Dates

Summer: June 4th – July 27th

Fall: September 5th – November 16th

You have the opportunity to apply for a specific department, while still learning many of the ins & outs of a nonprofit organization that is empowering women around the world!

Intern positions are unpaid and your commitment can range from 12-30 hours a week, depending on our needs, your specific placement, school schedule, and your University’s internship requirements. We are excited for you to be working with a quality team and hope that your time here is a priority!

Types of Internships:

Product Design – Do you have an eye for fashion and design? We’re looking for someone who has a background in fashion design that can assist with seasonal research, forecasting and development while helping to create sample plans for our new collections. A portfolio of your design style is required for this position.

Wholesale + Retail –  We are constantly growing our base of retailers and improving our relationships with those that already sell our products. You will provide support to retailers, fulfill orders and connect with potential buyers!

Nonprofit Operations – Mercy House operations are vast and varied – from receiving orders to communicating with artisans overseas. If you have an interest in business, this is the position for you! Assist in ordering inventory, offer insight into our production process, quality control, logistics and efficiency.

Volunteer + Project Management – Volunteering at Mercy House is a little different than your average nonprofit volunteer program.  We rely on our volunteers to prepare and package over 3,200 Fair Trade Friday subscription club packages! As the volunteer + project management intern, you will assist our Volunteer Coordinator with managing volunteers, planning projects and ensuring all our packages get out the door on time!

Graphic Design – We highly value the way we look and feel in the print + online world. You will work with our Creative Designer on projects from brainstorming to implementation and create graphics for social media, products and our subscription boxes. Graphic design applicants should be familiar with Adobe Creative.

Social Media – When it comes to social media, we have our hands full! We run multiple social media accounts and need extra hands to assist in day-to-day management, developing content, and engaging with followers.  This position will research social media trends and implement a plan to engage with our community!  

Photography + Video – We are looking for a creative intern to assist specifically in product and lifestyle photography.  This position would assist in photoshoot planning and editing. Video experience is a plus! A portfolio is required for this position.

Events – As the events intern, you will assist with planning and coordinating events such as our volunteer appreciation, annual gala, parties and so much more! We are looking for someone who is organized, enthusiastic and pays attention to detail. You will be involved in all aspects of planning such as; communicating with venues, planning décor, purchasing supplies and ensuring guests have a memorable experience!
